Introducing Dr. John

At six years old, Dr. John was the living version of a tornado. Powered by unfiltered enthusiasm (aka AD/HD) and a desire to win! He also happened to be rocking a bowl haircut that should make all who grew up in the 1980s proud! While his teachers pleaded for calm in the classroom, Dr. John's peace and purpose could be found on the ice. Hockey was the one place where being “spastic” wasn’t a liability; it was an asset.

This photo captures a small but determined tornado (aka Dr. John) grinning, stick in hand, in the environment where his energy had a purpose. While Dr. John never won any academic awards, despite his many hours in the principal’s office, on the ice, he was determined, happy, and successful - he was a beast with a bowl cut.

The moral of this story, as shown in this picture, is that motivation is born from the equivalence between one’s efforts and their successes. All of Dr. John’s efforts on the ice were met with success, which is why he looks SO darn happy!
